My journey started back in 2019 when I first created Kayla's Blog World! I wanted a place where I could express myself and help others by talking about situations I have been through personally. Unfortunately, due to some issues I stopped writing.

When the pandemic hit the next year, I contemplated on starting again but so much was happening in 2020! Nevertheless, I decided to practice my resin art later that year and in 2021 I created my Etsy account and Beautiful Dream Co was born! I absolutely love resin art! I created necklaces, lipstick holders, jewelry boxes, etc. It was going good until….it wasn’t. I realized Etsy was taking more money from me and I wasn’t really profiting at all! I decided in early 2021 to call it quits. 

I felt defeated…my blog fell through, and Etsy fell through within a year! I started to become discourage but…I came across a few platforms that talked about e-commerce. Now I have heard of e-commerce multiple times, but I never actually researched it. I began to see it more and more and I took it as a sign that maybe I should do some research and see if this is something I could do. After doing my research and buying a couple of online courses I decided I was going to hire someone and get my store started through eBay in December 2021. Everything was going very well I was making profit and seeing the benefit of e-commerce. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned…. The person that I hired was advertising a product but when the customers ordered that product, they ended up getting something completely different. So, all of these bad complaints started to come through and people wanted their money back. It ended up hitting me pretty hard with all the refunds and I decided that maybe this isn’t for me at this moment and of course ol dude had to go.

At this point I felt very defeated…. I had three business plans that had fell through. It seemed like every time I started a project something happened, and it just didn’t go as planned. I have always wanted to do a podcast and the slightest thought of it scared me. Would it be successful? Would my following grow? Can I be consistent? Will this fall through like the others did? Every question you could think of came to mind. One night, I was in bed and I had the podcast app on my phone for quite some time. I opened it up and I decided to record something and see what happened?!?! I ended up loving it and here I am! I hope I can grow the DeKay Tribe and show everyone out there to not give up! You may fail but with God, my family, friends and you guys anything is possible! You will get there with time! Just never give up!
